Given Tuesday was rainy , had an extra day to spend in Wellington before I headed out to Tongarrio crossing - one of the best day hikes in the word.
So ended up catching the sun rise at Mt Victoria
Went on Te Papa museum - there was a special display of the effect of war with the Turks. Touching larger than life size depictions of war and its impact.
Followed by a life size rendition of 3m wide flightless birds being attached by huge Eagles.
Enjoyed the coffee shops ambience, had some yum Malaysian food for lunch and started planning for the net day.
Unfortunately Tongarrio was not looking promising - too much travel time and the weather was supposed to be biting cold. One of those time when I wished I hadn't lost my drivers license and could just drive from place to place. But breathe ... And let it go.
