May 31 - of vivid sydney

Started the day by meeting Michael and Vick - my partners in crime for Kili. Had a long wait at the grounds for brunch - typical big city hype. Long lines and ok food. Wonderful people though.

Spent the afternoon doing what I like doing most -
Wandering around a place I don't know - taking it all in - the bustling traffic , the office goers , the eager tourists, overflowing shopping malls and never ending food courts.

Vivid Sydney was exactly what it seemed like - an eclectic mix of art, commerce and technology. Sponsored by Intel, it was a great effort at luring tourists and locals alike back at the Sydney harbour - getting them to spend Moolah, create a buzz on social
Channels and loosen their creative sides and their purse strings.

Made for a very picturesque Sydney in any case.

May 26 - of the apostles and the koalas

Great ocean road - built by ex army in the age without mechanical Engg. Quite a feat. And what amazing views. Took a guided tour for a change. Drove up to a golden sand beach - stopped for morning tea , then onwards through the scenic great ocean road onto a pitt stop to see mor koalas and a few exotic bird species and bird man too.

Stopped at the Lockhart gorge - sad story with not a happy ever after ending but dramatic views of the sheer power of the sea and the rugged cliffs. Onwards to the apostles , only 9 instead of 12. Interesting how name sells. Was a great walk to the base of the GOR walk - some lovely sunset views and shots before we headed back into town for dinner ( go m'acd!) and the hostel for some much needed sleep.

May 30 - of outlet shopping and vegan delights in Fitzroy

Spent the day at fitzroys - Melbournes outlet shopping district as well as best vegan neighborhood. Intended to pick up some last minute knock knacks for Kili - but the need for best value or nothing is too deeply entrenched. Didn't end up buying much.

Saving grace was lunch at Vegie bar - top 5 on Melbournes best eats. But wait what - no doggy bags?? Seemed like a pretty unpretentious cafe to me until that point.

Ended th night with drinks at united backpackers, then bar hopped to the place on the bridge and the onyp the rooftop bar. A good girls night out.
