May 16 - one of the great walks of NZ Abel Tasman track

After waiting for 3 days, finally had the perfect weather to get out on Abel Tasman track. Ferry ride to Barks bay with a stop to see the worlds littlest blue penguin. As well as Adele island - the place with amazing birdsong if you can get three at dawn.  Hiked from  Bark's bay to Torrents bay - crossed the ocean bed during low tide - was pretty sloshy, crunchy from shells and lots of pebbles - so much that my feet were going numb after a while. Was an experience in and of itself and was good to have Jackie for company.

After a relaxing lunch with  a seagull watching over us, waiting for scraps once we were done, I headed on to maharau double the pace to make it in time for the bus back to Nelson. Was a fun hike, all in all - lots of dense forests , numerous streams and waterfalls , great bay views around every corner, nicely over trails over the ridge line. Lovely track - was good tired by the time I got back.

And the chocolate pudding tasted especially yum - thankfully I am leaving tomorrow or I'd have to join the chocolate anonymous club :)
