May 10 - and Mt Cook peeks out from behind the clouds

Woke up to a day of beautiful sunshine and headed out to Hooker Valley to finally bring 3 days is suspense in catching a glimpse of Mt Cook to an end.

Simply stunning, magnificent in all its glory - NZs tallest mountain towering over the valley. Oh what a sight it was. it simply amazes me how few people I come across on NZ's stunning trails even though they are so accessible. You can get from town to 360 degree panaromic views in less than 2 hours.

Here's a 360 view from Hooker Valley

Moving northwards , passed by lake teleport this afternoon. Another one of those small holiday towns with a small Main Street and a few scattered homes - the lake was beautiful with picturesque turquoise waters and amazing vistas for as long as the eye can see.

NZ is a dairy country - they export a lot of milk products internationally. Had an opportunity to try their ice team today - the hokey pokey (honeycomb). Surprisingly wasn't as sweet as American ice cream. I should've been glad that it was 'healthier' but non-sweet ice cream didn't quite hit the spot. Got try one somewhere else to do that I leave NZ with a definitive opinion about their ice cream.

Onwards to Christchurch now ...
