June 3 - of the fame of SOH

It's captivated so many people through movies, videos and countless performances including world famous opera premiers and symphonies.

I was lured into buying tickets for the only show available on the day I had free in the city. It was Robertson's My Country Amy Life symphony. Was pretty up,close and personal to the stage and was busy following the musicians expressions as they played, the conductor as he was so intensely involved in his work to the exclusion of the venue , audience , everything but what he was doing in the moment. To the violinist who had so much sorrow and pain in this face , and bloodshot eyes from either a hangover or not enough sleep. To the other musicians - some of them playing listlessly, others  one with the music , all vey somber folk dressed in black.

Got some more pics of #vividsydney while I was out there. And did I mention yha railway square was such a refreshing change compared to Sydney central yha. What a change a block In a city like Sydney can make in your experience of it. Loved the railway car accommodations :)

The morning you ask? Well - I was dressed to run but ended up taking care of trip planning, currency exchange and a quick trip down to the new town neighborhood - for some
Much needed threading and was hoping to stop at lentil as anything but didn't quite happen. They were closed to prep for dinner. I eventually did end up running down to botanic gardens - felt refreshing once I was out there.

Jun 2 - are the Blue Mountains really blue?

Turns out they are - due to oil particles from the eucalyptus trees absorbing the shorter wavelength from the sunlight leaving only blue visible.

Was a lovely hike along the cliffs - huge dense rain forests , bridal veil waterfalls , the worlds steepest railway incline at 56 degrees ( yes I chose to walk up instead - am sure you guessed that right ;)

Spent a lot of energy over a bad decision to buy a hop on/off pass. It's interesting how some things keep nagging at you over and over how much ever you try to let it go.  This, and work and life in general - I suppose hiking makes room for your mind to surface what it is being busy at - the good, bad and the ugly.

June - 1st of stunning coastal walks.

So yes - it was a touristy thing to do. But hey - I'm only human. Plus it was really as pretty as the hype - maybe more so. The awesome
Part was they had a beautiful running track all around it with some corners for muscle building and even an ocean pool - with swimming lanes and everything. The next best thing to swimming in the actual ocean.

Had a lazy afternoon by the beach , stopped by a cute cafe for a soy latte and yes my fix for wifi for the day.

In the evening , booked my east coast tour with peter pans after much haggling and met yvette and co for dinner/drinks. Travel and meeting new people sure opens up perspective. Who knew of the L show or why girls really watch organs is the new black??
